In honor of Women’s History Month, BH’ers nominated women who exemplify the BH values: Embrace Evolution, Hear Every Voice, Create Community, Do Business the Right Way, and Have the Guts for Greatness.
From the large pool of over 240 nominees, we selected four wildly awesome women to celebrate during the month of March. So far, we’ve featured Emely Pike, a Strategic Audit Specialist II; Katie Evans, Community Manager at Everly Apartments in Houston, TX; and Veronica Bray, Regional Manager Build-to-Rent (BTR).
Our fourth and final BH rock star is Christina Mao, a Leasing Consultant at Broadmoor Apartments in Henrico, VA. Christina is being recognized for her resilience as both a mother and a teammate. She was described as “a true example of what dedication and heart look like.”
Christina has been with BH since 2018 (with a short break from 2022-2023). As a leasing consultant, Christina enjoys listening to people’s needs, easing their concerns, and helping them feel confident in their home choice. She is motivated by the blend of relationship‑building, problem‑solving, and goal‑driven work that her role requires. Christina also enjoys the challenge of turning a first impression into trust, and trust into long‑term satisfaction.
According to her nomination, Christina is truly an inspiration. “As a mom of five, a devoted wife, and a standout star in leasing, she juggles more in a day than many do in a week. She is always willing to go above and beyond for her team and her residents, all while making sure every one of her babies is cared for. As you can imagine, having five children means more of her time and energy being needed at home. Yet, she continues to dedicate extra time to the job whenever support is needed. Even on the hardest days, she welcomes residents with respect, patience, and a smile.”
Christina shared, “Balancing a full day of work and then going home to five children is one of the toughest combinations anyone can take on, but the happiness on my children’s faces makes it all worth it. That’s what keeps me going and why I enjoy what I do.”
Christina’s favorite Core Value is “Hear Every Voice” because she believes diversity becomes meaningful when people feel safe and empowered to speak. She said, “By listening actively and creating space for different perspectives, I help build an environment where everyone feels respected and included.”
Congratulations, Christina, for being recognized during Women’s History Month!
