In honor of Women’s History Month, we asked BH’ers to nominate women who exemplify the BH values and go above and beyond to provide The Mint Experience. In our third year of this campaign, we received 241 nominations – more than double the amount as last year!
From the large pool of outstanding nominees, we selected four wildly awesome women to feature during the month of March. Last week, we highlighted Emely Pike, a Strategic Audit Specialist II.
Our second BH rock star is Katie Evans, Community Manager at Everly Apartments in Houston, TX.
Katie has been with BH for three years. A typical day is packed with a variety of responsibilities – from managing construction projects and pushing leasing goals to training, coordinating maintenance, and managing financials. Resident relations are also very important, and Katie keeps a positive rapport with all her residents. Despite the fast-paced environment, Katie finishes each day feeling accomplished and eager to begin the next.
According to her nomination, Katie is being recognized for the positive impact she consistently has on those around her. “Katie is always willing to step in and help wherever needed, and she does so with a level of dedication and kindness that truly stands out. Her willingness to support others, no matter the situation, makes her an invaluable part of the team.”
Katie is known for being extremely knowledgeable and bringing a strong sense of professionalism and experience to everything she does. “She is someone others can rely on for guidance, answers, and solutions, and she consistently uses her knowledge to strengthen the overall success of BH. What I appreciate most about Katie is her ability to connect with people on a personal level. She is not only a great coworker, but also someone who genuinely listens and supports you when you need a friend. She creates a sense of trust and comfort that makes others feel seen and valued.”
It’s fitting then that Katie’s favorite Core Value is “Hear Every Voice.” This value resonates with Katie because it’s not just a statement, but something the company actively practices. She appreciates that BH offers multiple programs such as a book club, and conference calls to educate employees on diversity and inclusion.
“These programs provide a safe space for people to be seen, heard, and express themselves about workplace and personal experiences surrounding topics such as microaggressions and mental health awareness,” Katie said. “BH genuinely cares and I feel they are committed to making a positive change in the workplace culture for everyone.”
Congratulations, Katie, for being recognized during Women’s History Month!
