In honor of Women’s History Month, we asked BH’ers to nominate women who exemplify the BH values: Embrace Evolution, Hear Every Voice, Create Community, Do Business the Right Way, and Have the Guts for Greatness. We received 241 nominations – more than double the amount as last year.
From the large pool of nominees, we selected four wildly awesome women to feature during the month of March. So far, we’ve celebrated Emely Pike, a Strategic Audit Specialist II, and Katie Evans, Community Manager at Everly Apartments in Houston, TX
Our third BH rock star is Veronica Bray, Regional Manager Build-to-Rent (BTR).
Veronica has been with BH for six years. In her current role as a BTR Regional Manager, Veronica oversees operations, financial performance, and leasing strategy across multiple communities. But the role is about something much bigger. It’s about developing future leaders; supporting teams through challenges; developing strong portfolios and an environment where leaders support each other; creating communities where residents feel at home; and building strong partnerships with clients by working closely with them to execute strategic business plans and exceed expectations.
Veronica said, “The best Regional Managers measure success not only by occupancy or NOI, but by watching their team members grow, gain confidence, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. That’s the most rewarding part.”
According to her nomination, Veronica oversees her seven BTR communities with exceptional leadership, dedication, and heart. “She is truly our go-to person—always available, always supportive, and always willing to step in wherever she is needed. Veronica is more than a leader; she is a mentor to us all. She consistently encourages growth, celebrates achievements, and takes the time to recognize her team with well-deserved kudos. Her leadership style is rooted in service and empowerment, and she leads by example every single day.”
Beyond her professional life, Veronica is an incredible mother, wife, and friend. “She wears many hats, balancing her responsibilities with compassion and integrity. She is selfless in her actions, thoughtful in her decisions, and genuine in her care for others. She embodies what it means to lead with purpose and heart.”
Veronica’s favorite Core Value is “Have the Guts for Greatness.” Since transitioning from multifamily to BTR, this value has resonated with Veronica because stepping into a new space required courage and a willingness to take on challenges. She said, “I truly appreciate BH’s ability to push forward, build, grow, and support teams even when things are tough. I also love working alongside fellow BH’ers who embody the grit and unstoppable attitude that our culture fosters through this Core Value.”
