In honor of Women’s History Month, we asked BH’ers to nominate women who exemplify the BH values and go above and beyond to provide The Mint Experience. In our second year of this campaign, we received a whopping 105 nominations!
From the large pool of worthy nominees, we selected four wildly awesome women to feature during the month of March. Our first BH rock star is Jessica Mendoza, Community Manager at Junction Crossing Apartments in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jessica’s assignment came with many challenges as BH had just taken over the community from a previous management company. The community’s occupancy was low and performing below budgeted expectations. Jessica needed to fill an opening for a leasing agent and help the existing maintenance team learn and acclimate to BH policies. Jessica stayed late, came in early, and was always available to listen to her residents’ concerns with patience and empathy.
By September, budgeted goals were met and exceeded, she had a fully staffed, stellar team and residents’ satisfaction was high. Quite a feat!
Jessica has created a “dream team” at Junction Crossing. In addition to being high performing, Jessica and her team make new residents feel welcome and they host frequent resident events to engage and enrich their lives.
Jessica is also known for being very hands-on with her team – helping with training, walking units, and cross-training to help them reach their career goals.
She loves BH’s company culture, especially how it values “Guts for Greatness.”
“I’m grateful to work in a culture that values courage and determination,” she says. “It’s all about taking risks, overcoming obstacles, and embracing growth even when the path isn’t easy. I look forward to continuing to grow alongside such an amazing group.”
As a mother of four, she says balancing her work and personal life is definitely a daily challenge, but one she embraces wholeheartedly.
“I truly value BH and the incredible people I collaborate with daily,” Jessica says.
Today and every day, we celebrate Jessica for her commitment to excellence. She is a true asset to BH and deserves to be recognized during Women’s History Month.
